2024 New Plymouth Trainee Day
Date: 28 February 2024
Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm
Venue: The Devon Hotel, New Plymouth, New Zealand
The Trainee Day is held in conjunction with the IMSANZ Annual Conference and is specifically designed for Trainees who would like to further develop their skills and knowledge. The IMSANZ NZ Trainee Day programme was expertly developed and facilitated on the day by Kelson Tu'akoi, who is one of the IMSANZ NZ Trainee Representatives on the IMSANZ Council. The day was well-attended with 28 members attending in person.
The 2024 IMSANZ Trainee Workshop in New Plymouth was a success. It was well attended by basic and advanced trainees from both New Zealand and Australia, in addition to non-training RMOs with an interest in pursuing General Medicine. Sessions covered both professional development and clinical topics, ranging from 'advanced training project tips' and 'health and wellbeing', to 'clinician performed ultrasound', and 'skin rashes for the physician'.
The workshop provoked intriguing discussions, opportunities to meet trainees and consultants from other hospitals, and a boost in motivation.
We appreciate all the speakers, for their time, and openness in sharing their knowledge and experiences. We also appreciate the trainees, for their enthusiasm and active involvement on the day. Finally, I would like to thank advanced trainee Marija Zutic, and the remainder of the IMSANZ conference committee, who helped make this day possible.
